We are a coalition of students rejecting the forced complicity in the illegal occupation of Palestine. We aim to answer the call for BDS made by Palestinian Civil Society in 2005 and amplify the voices of Palestinians. We reject the power structures that have oppressed Palestinians and aim to reclaim power has been stripped of students over the years. We are UCSB Divest

Letter of Endorsement from Jewish Voice for Peace, Santa Barbara

“We are the Santa Barbara chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, a national organization composed of both Jewish and non-Jewish people opposed to the ongoing Israeli Occupation of Palestine territories. It is our belief that those of us who are Jewish and opposed to the occupation have a unique voice to offer in the current debate on divestment. We are proof of the fact that to be Jewish does not automatically make one a blind supporter of Israel, right or wrong. Similarly, a vote in favor of divestment says nothing about one’s attitude toward Jews, only that such a vote is in favor or taking steps to end an injustice.”
